For The Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- ¾ cup warm water
For The Filling
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- ½ cup bell pepper chopped
- ½ cup green onion chopped
- 1 cup cabbage shredded
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
- ¼ cup water
Step 1: Make The Dough
In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
Add vegetable oil and warm water.
Mix with a spoon until a soft dough forms.
Knead on a cutting board for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare The Filling
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add garlic, bell pepper, and green onion. Cook for 2 minutes.
Add cabbage, seasoning, and salt.
Pour in water and cook until soft and dry.
Stir in parsley and let the filling cool.
Step 3: Shape The Patties
Divide dough into small balls.
Roll each into a thin circle using a rolling pin.
Place a spoon of filling in the center.
Fold in half and press edges with a fork to seal.
Step 4: Fry The Pate Kode
Heat frying oil in a deep skillet.
Fry patties in batches until golden brown.
Flip halfway for even color.
Remove and place on paper towels.
