- Lemons: 2 large fresh lemons. Organic is great if you can find them, but just give conventional ones a good wash.
- Water: 8 cups of filtered water ice-cold.
- Ice: 2 cups of ice cubes for serving.
Prepare the Lemons: Start by washing the lemons thoroughly under cool water. Using a sharp knife and a cutting board, slice the lemons into thin, even rounds. You can remove the seeds as you go; it just makes the final drink look nicer and easier to pour.
Combine in Pitcher: Take your favorite large glass pitcher. Place the fresh lemon slices at the bottom.
Add Water: Pour the 8 cups of cold, filtered water over the lemon slices in the pitcher.
Begin Infusion: Give everything a gentle stir with a long spoon. This helps release a little bit of the lemon juice right away.
Chill: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator. Let it infuse for at least 2 to 4 hours. This allows the flavor of the fruit to properly mingle with the water.
Serve: When you are ready to serve, fill individual glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled Lemon Infused Water over the ice, making sure to add a few of the lemon slices from the pitcher into each glass.
Garnish (Optional): For a finishing touch, you can garnish each glass with a fresh mint sprig or an extra thin lemon slice on the rim
