But today, we’re not talking about dancing – we’re talking about food! The cha cha recipe we’ll be sharing is a mouthwatering blend of flavors that will transport your taste buds straight to the heart of Latin America.
So whether you’re a fan of Latin American cuisine or just looking for a new and exciting meal to try, this recipe is sure to be a hit. So let’s get cooking!
Cha Cha Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 2 cups water
Instructions:
- Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chicken to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil and the diced bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the tomato sauce, water, vinegar, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and salt and pepper to the pan. Stir to combine.
- Return the cooked chicken to the pan and stir to coat it in the sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
- While the chicken is simmering, prepare the rice. In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and stir. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
- Serve the cha cha over the cooked rice, and enjoy!
Optional: You can also add in some diced carrots or green peas for extra veggies or top with some chopped cilantro for added flavor.
